The succession plan at the Estée Lauder Companies seems to be coming into focus with Jane Lauder stepping down and ELC veteran Stéphane de La Faverie assuming the Chief Executive Officer role, succeeding Fabrizio Freda. Cost cutting at the beauty conglomerate will mean a second round of layoffs in January and February as part of a larger restructuring plan. Revlon and Unilever also filled key leadership positions, and JuE Wong is back in the beauty game taking the helm of Performance Beauty Group.ELC veteran Stéphane de La Faverie will assume the Chief Executive Officer role, succeeding Fabrizio Freda, who has been CEO since 2009. The company also said William P. Lauder, a grandson of the founder, is stepping down as Executive Chairman but will remain Board Chair.Jane Lauder is stepping down from her role as Chief Data Officer and Executive Vice President, Enterprise Marketing, at the end of this year. She will remain an active member of the company's board.Unilever has named Mary Carmen Gasco-Buisson as Chief Executive Officer of its Prestige division, succeeding Vasiliki Petrou, who announced her departure in June. Gasco-Buisson, a Unilever alumna with a degree in chemical engineering from Cornell University, has more than two decades of experience working in beauty and prestige, including at Procter & Gamble. Most recently, she served as the Chief Marketing Officer and Executive Vice President of Global Business Units at the jeweler Pandora.Revlon has appointed Michelle Peluso as Chief Executive Officer a year after emerging from bankruptcy proceedings under new ownership. Peluso most recently worked as the Chief Customer and Experience Officer at CVS Health.
